Medly founder, Dr William Maish, experienced a brainstem tumour in his early 20’s, requiring two rounds of surgery and radiation therapy… and that was just the start of it. Unable to afford doctor appointments, specialist reviews and even his own rehab, William decided that Australian healthcare didn’t cut it. Not because the clinicians weren’t trying, but because the system is designed around scarcity, paperwork, and fragmented care, with costs and waiting times that quietly push people out of the queue. He built Medly to be the opposite of that: affordable access, clear pathways, and clinicians who are held to a higher standard than “good enough”. A service that treats time, cost, and dignity as clinical variables, not afterthoughts, and that makes it easier to get help early before things become urgent, complex, or preventable. Medly exists to prove a simple point: ethical healthcare can be modern, accessible, and transparent, without becoming transactional. If you can’t access care when you need it, you don’t really have a health system.
